Chicken Karaage Deep Fried Chicken Bites

チキン唐揚げ – Chicken Karaage

A very popular dish amongst kids and adults, this dish is also a party food favorite! This is like the Japanese version of fried chicken with a little twist. You can use this marinade for any type of meat and fish, just don’t forget to deep fry’em!

1lbs boneless chicken (dark meat is best but you can use white as well)

4 tbsp. soy sauce

2 tbsp. mirin

4 cloves oroshi garlic, grated

2 tsp. oroshi ginger, grated

Cornstarch to coat

vegetable oil for deep frying

1. Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces.

2. Add soy sauce, mirin, garlic, and ginger and mix well.

3. Marinate the chicken in this sauce for about an hour.

4. Toss chicken in cornstarch until the chicken is coated. Deep fry in 180 degree vegetable oil until medium brown in color. Serve with slices of lemon.
