Places to Meet in Tokyo

Each city has a landmark near the Train Station (Eki) where people gather at the top and half of each hour to meet. When I was an English teacher I used to meet my private students at these landmarks. It was funny meeting people for the first time because we never knew what each other looked like.

The most famous landmark to meet in Tokyo is the Hachiko Memorial Statue at Shibuya Station. Hachiko lived from November 10 to 1923–March 8, 1935 and is still remembered today for his loyalty to his master.

In Omiya there is a big twisted piece of metal that seems to attract thousands of people a day.

Ikebukuro has the Owl that is located at the South East Entrance of the JR Station.
