Take Off Your Shoes

It’s a custom to take your shoes off before entering someone’s home in Japan. Most of the time indoor slippers are provided to keep your feet warm and to keep your socks clean. So wearing shoes that easily come off is a good idea.

People who must take their shoes off often usually find a way to work with what they have. Wearing shoes that are loose causes people to drag their feet. I find this habit very annoying.

Do you think taking off your shoes before entering the house is a good idea or a pain in the butt?
