55DSL 15 Year Anniversary Party

I met my friend Okamai at an izakaya in Daikanyama to discuss the next issue of her magazine, Fremaga. We had a nice salad to start things off.

We had some tempura which was good, but a little greasy. I’ve had better.

Some “chicken karaage” or deep fried chicken which was also not bad but wasn’t anything to blog about.

And a little sashimi spread which I enjoyed.

One thing led to another and we hooked up with DJ Sarasa (above) who took us to 55DSL’s 15 year anniversary party at “UNIT“.

I bumped into some familiar faces like photographer, editor, creative director Yasumasa Yonehara.

The camera crew was shooting with the prosumer Sony HDR-FX1 which is a decent camera… but I’m a Panasonic man and for roughly the same price you can get the Panasonic AG-HVX200 which is 10′s better in my humble opinion.

“UNIT” is a huge, multi-level venue. It was my first time there and it was a nice change from my usual routine of Shibuya reggae clubs.

The transvestite version of Halle Berry was in attendance.

55DSL’s threads were on display. It got crowded quick so before Grandmaster Flash took the floor I decided to make like a tree.

I got on my bike and headed back to Ebisu (a 10 minute ride from Daikanyama at most!). How I ended up at Shimokitazawa I haven’t the slightest clue! I followed the street signs and eventually I made my way back home – there’s never a dull moment!
