Tokyo Spider

spider

Exactly one month after a Giant Spider invaded Yokohama, my weekly mansion in Ebisu was the target of another spider attack which left one dead and nobody else injured.

Before smushing him with a pack of gum, I grabbed my Nikon D80 and swapped the stock 18-105mm lens for the 60mm Macro Lens. I snapped a couple quick shots – this one was the best I could get of the moving target.

I’d like to figure out what kind of critter this was exactly. I’m mainly concerned with knowing if it’s poisonous and if I’m in danger of being eaten alive by his family members. So I’m gonna take a look at this arachnological page to try to identify it.

Why am I so freaked out? The other day I saw a spider in my apartment. That same night I had a dream that it crawled into my ear and was living in there. Then I read this post explaing how to remove a spider from your ear! So I’m still wondering if there is in fact a spider in my ear… or am I just crazy?

On that useful spider from ear removal post, I love the advise..

“Do not use a cotton swab or small knife to attempt to remove or kill the spider; this will cause damage to your ear.”

Brilliant. Could also have, do not use a can of deodorant and a lighter to flame-throw the spider, may set your hair on fire..

I don’t like to kill insects, but I would have to DESTROY that spider.

    Those fangs are intense.

The spider in the ear would be a scary nightmare. My other pet peeve is being bit in the face by mosquitoes while sleeping. Why in the face!?
