The family and I took a stroll through Meiji Jingu on Sunday. It was sunny and warm – beautiful day. Next to Meiji Jingu at Yoyogi Park was the, “Kyushu Matsuri,” which my wife learned about reading Metropolis.

All kinds of food and drink were being served. Kumamoto is known for basashi, or raw horse meat. I didn’t find any raw horse but I did spot what was by far the biggest pot of soup I’ve come across in my lifetime.

The hamburglar was in the house keeping the spirits high. Being a mascot isn’t easy – that’s for sure.

Then we found iwashi stuffed with mentaiko on the grill.

Iwashi is a boney fish but they’re small so you can eat most of ‘em.
