Here’s a random pic I took of an empty Suntory Whisky bottle while walking down the street in Takadanobaba.

I took this pic with a cheap lens I bought in a used camera shop in Shinjuku for 7,800 JPY ($80 USD). I sold my expensive, ‘L series’, zoom lens on eBay so I got a cheap-o lens just to have one. It’s a 50mm f/1.4 noisy, plastic junker. I wasn’t expecting great results… but it’s not bad so far. It’s actually kinda fun seeing what I can do with a crappy lens on a sweet camera.

This post was misleading. I thought it had to do something with actually drinking the whiskey!
Cool to know that the crap lens was still good, though.
Oh, and have you figured out any good film festivals over there in Tokyo, that are international friendly? I wanna submit something.
Sorry you felt mislead.
Tokyo International Film Festival: http://www.tiff-jp.net/en/ – is a good one but you prob already know about it. This one also seems pretty cool: http://www.yidff.jp/home-e.html
I still haven’t done enough research to give good advice though. Anyone else know of a good one?
Thanks.. I guess there are no smaller, more indie type of festivals in Tokyo? Like a Slamdance equivalent, that’d be interested in weird, live-action/animated stuff? Maybe I should narrow down the VFX community over there, cause my film is well… unique I guess.
