In a previous post I mentioned the release of a new Carl Zeiss lens – the Zeiss Distagon 35mm f/2 ZE Lens for Canon EF Mount Cameras. The 35mm follows the release of the ZE 18/3.5 Distagon, the ZE 21/2.8 Distagon and the ZE 28/2 Distagon.
I went into MAP Camera (JP) in Shinjuku to possibly pick up a Canon 16-35mm II USM… I didn’t. Instead, I walked out a happy owner of a brand new Zeiss Super-Wide Angle 2.8/21mm Distagon ZE.
The reviews on this lens are amazing – everyone says it’s the best wide angle lens made. I’m looking forward to finding out for myself.

Here are some examples of what the Zeiss 21mm is capable of – shot at Lynn Canyon in Vancouver, BC
Buy this lens on Amazon.com here or find all Zeiss ZE lenses for Canon at B&H in New York City. Unlike Amazon, B&H ships worldwide.

I have this lens as well and I agree that it’s wonderfully designed. Fun shot and great comp in the photo of the young boy here: http://www.tune-in-tokyo.com/2010/01/i-love-my-zeiss-21mm/
The Zeiss lens in the best around hands down
