Despite anti-Olympic demonstrations and rowdy protesters shouting, “the world is watching,” the Olympic torch made its way through downtown Vancouver and the 2010 Olympics are in full swing. There are many groups protesting the Olympics like the one we saw the other day, here. More reading about Olympic protests here for those who are interested.

I personally disagree with displacing homeless people. I find it hard to believe so much money is being spent for the big show while people freeze to death on the streets. I took a walk own East Hastings after the torch passed through. Let’s put it this way… I didn’t see any little white socks with Mickey Mouse on one side and Donald Duck on the other.

How do you feel about the protests? Your thoughts and comments highly welcomed below.

My opinion – the homeless do not have a right to live wherever they please and they are technically not supposed to be living in public areas. So if they are displaced because of a worldwide event then that’s just too bad.
in response to the comment by Drake,
are you Canadian?
do you not see the displacement of the weakest people in our society?
I gather you have never been homeless nor have you ever gone without a meal.
If there is no affordable houseing for the poor where would you like them to live?
Perhaps GORDO should do what Adolf Hitler did?
Would that make you feel better?.
Instant karmas gonna get cha.

Very pleased with the protests, and hope they not only continue but escalate.
