Despite anti-Olympic demonstrations and rowdy protesters shouting, “the world is watching,” the Olympic torch made its way through downtown Vancouver and the 2010 Olympics are in full swing. I personally disagree with displacing homeless people. I find it hard to believe so much money is being spent for the big show while people freeze to death on the streets. I took a walk own East Hastings after the torch passed through. Let’s put it this way… I didn’t see any little white socks with Mickey Mouse on one side and Donald Duck on the other.

My opinion – the homeless do not have a right to live wherever they please and they are technically not supposed to be living in public areas. So if they are displaced because of a worldwide event then that’s just too bad.

I gather you have never been homeless nor have you ever gone without a meal.
If there is no affordable houseing for the poor where would you like them to live?
