Yuzuri Hara
We visited Yuzuri Hara some years ago to interview the residents about their daily lives. Apparently the population in Yuzuri Hara lives much longer than any place in Japan.
Yahoo Auction Japan
Although Japanese people use eBay, the more popular national auction site in Japan is Yahoo Auction. In recent years Yahoo Auction has become so popular that you can nearly find anything on this auction site. For years my video equipment business made decent money and contacts using this online auction site.
Working in Japan
There are a ton of foreigners working and living in Japan. I have found that most foreigners with good paying jobs are capable of speaking Japanese while most non-Japanese speakers are left with low paying jobs with expendable positions such as English teachers. Teaching English in Japan
Many foreigners go to Japan to teach conversational English or “Eikaiwa”. In the 1990’s it became popular for private schools to import native English speakers for their students. There was a boom for a while and the English teacher was a hot commodity.
Wasabi
Wasabi, also know as “Japanese Horseradish”, is used as a spice in some Japanese food. The taste is very strong and spicy much like hot mustard – you know, the kind you feel in the back of your nose towards the brain area.
