Affiliates
Affiliate Programs
Here are a few affiliate programs that I've been using on Tune-In-Tokyo with some success. They aren't listed in any particular order and depending on the content of your site the income will definitely vary:
Google Adsense is a pay-per-click program. Affiliates must create an advertisement like the one you see below and every time the ad is clicked money goes into your account. Pretty straight forward. Don't get any funny ideas about clicking your own ads. It doesn't work. Google is the all knowing... and you will be banned for life.
Amazon.com is a one of the better performers. Just about every product known to man is sold on Amazon. The payout ranges based on performance. The more items you sell, the higher your commission. They provide nicely designed banners and the site is well branded so it's not a hard sell.
J-List Affiliate Program - features funky Japanese imports shipped directly from Japan. Most of the items they offer are not available anywhere else. So J-List is great for traffic interested in the Japanese niche.
Webair virtual or shared high speed hosting solutions offer the flexibility and support to handle any size client. They pay a commission on sales which covers the cost of my own hosting. I can't tell you how happy I am with Webair. I talk to the same guy every time I call for tech support. Top notch service.
B&H Photo New York - possibly the biggest electronics store in the world. If you buy photo or video gear then you must know B&H.
I've mentioned a few of the main affiliate programs above but there are many more out there. They key is to pick a few that go along with the theme of your site and make sure to produce quality content. Provide valuable information and relative ads and you'll find great success with affiliate programs.
Good luck and have fun!
